Who
is a Partner?
Membership:
This
governing policy board (Steering Committee) for the project
is composed of those partners in the project who share fiscal
responsibility.

How
does the partnership work?
Partners:
-
are responsible for the full cost of kiosk workstations (hardware,
software, licenses, supplies, content development, staff training,
and infrastructure items) within their separate jurisdictions,
-
agree to adhere to all CRiS program standards, policies, procedures,
and requirements,
-
may elect to contract with Fairfax County for hardware maintenance,
and
-
proportionally (based upon number of units deployed) contribute
to the costs of commonly developed and used services, e.g.,
design of structures, special studies and consultants, communications
networking, graphic services, publicity, etc.

Roles:
- oversees
the policy and development issues for the kiosk program,
-
integrates the kiosk program (content, role, and presentation)
with other citizen-centered information sources and technologies,
both those which are jurisdiction-specific and those which are
cross-jurisdictional,
-
develops targeted marketing, publicity, and other awareness
programs,
-
seeks adequate funding for the project through budget, grant,
partnership, and revenue generating sources,
-
sets priorities,
-
establishes partnerships with other jurisdictions,
-
liaisons with the respective County Executives, Managers, Mayors,
and elected officials, and
-
approves criteria for revenue participants (private sector,
for-profit organizations).

How
to become a partner?
The
governing board of the Kiosk Steering Committee will determine
all joining partners based on :

provided to Fairfax County citizens and neighboring localities.
Types of services offered. (profit and non-profit)
Location for services to be provided.
